Designed for individuals grappling with various chronic pain conditions, including persistent back, neck, or shoulder pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, the Protectometer App aspires to aid in pain reduction through comprehensive personal insights.

Originating from the creators of the acclaimed publications "Explain Pain" and "The Explain Pain Handbook: Protectometer," this platform serves as both an interactive application and an educational eBook. It offers an extensive exploration of personal pain narratives framed through a 'personal pain formula.'

The core principle of the Protectometer App suggests that pain is experienced when there is a disproportionate perception of danger relative to safety. This 'personal pain formula' is informed by various elements termed 'DIMs' (Danger In Me)—including diagnoses, spoken language, radiographic findings, biological processes, and environmental influences. Conversely, 'SIMs' (Safety In Me) encompass factors that augment feelings of strength, health, and confidence.

Utilizing the Protectometer App allows users to:

<li>Identify their DIMs and SIMs</li>
<li>Understand their DIM/SIM equilibrium and its relation to their pain</li>
<li>Engage in Challenges aimed at mitigating the influence of DIMs</li>
<li>Execute specifically designed tasks to discover additional SIMs and alleviate pain</li>
<li>Monitor progress over time</li>
<li>Learn strategies to enhance therapeutic interventions, particularly involving movement and exercise</li>
